NEW Summer Performing Arts Classes in Sunderland under the Holiday, Activity & Food Scheme!

WHAM Theatre Schools are delighted to be launching their new holiday classes in the North-East this Summer of 2023!

WHAM have successfully delivered previous schemes via Medway Go (Medway Council) and Big Norfolk Holiday Fun (Active Norfolk) and are thrilled to be offering provisions for local families and children in the Washington area of Sunderland. The local scheme, managed and funded by Together for Children, and Sunderland City Council, will open up performing arts & theatre activities to new children for ages 6 to 13 in the area under the Department for Education's funded HAF scheme this summer.

The scheme will be running between 10.30am to 2.30pm on the following days:

July 2023

• Tuesday 25th July - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Wednesday 26th July - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Thursday 27th July - 10.30am - 2.30pm

August/September 2023

• Tuesday 1st August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Wednesday 2nd August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Thursday 3rd August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Tuesday 8th August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Wednesday 9th August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Thursday 10th August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Wednesday 30th August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Thursday 31st August - 10.30am - 2.30pm

• Friday 1st September - 10.30am - 2.30pm

The activities include a healthy lunch for all students, and funding is available for children who are eligible for Free School Meals. The classes are also open to those who don't meet the criteria for a low cost price of £22.50 per day, with a 10% discount if booked in a block of 3.

The activities planned are taught by qualified Performing Arts Instructors, and this covers basic dance technique, Drama & Theatre Improvisation Games for building confidence, Choreography, Film Making & Storyboarding and vocal technique for those who want to.

WHAM Theatre Schools is proud to be a compliant children's activity provider, and has to be verified by the local council for HAF Schemes. Therefore, we:

• Ensure all team members have a clear Enhanced DBS Certificate, registered on the Update Service

• Hold Public Liability Insurance

• Undertake Full Risk & Health & Safety Assessments

• Have a full safeguarding & child protection policy

• Have First Aiders on site at all of our venues

• Have a full GDPR Compliant System ensuring your data is safe
